Telemedicine & Extremely Urgent Cases Only Through 4/25/2020

Telemedicine & Extremely Urgent Cases Only Through 4/25/2020 or Until Further Notice

Dear Patients,

During the last couple of weeks, we have remained open to care for you for as long as we possibly could. On Friday March 27th, we received a very strict and specific ruling from the State of Colorado regulatory agency that we can no longer perform elective treatment. The definition of elective treatment is incredibly narrow (please see toward the bottom of this message).

Our doctors will be available, on-call Monday-Saturday from NOW until 4/25 to treat extremely urgent cases only. We are requiring any patients who feel that their care is urgent to schedule a telemedicine call with the on-call doctor. We can then give you home-care recommendations, determine if you need treatment in our clinic or provide a referral to an Urgent Care or ER. Telemedicine appointments can be scheduled by texting 303-744-7100. See doctor's schedules below. Read our telemedicine BLOG here for more details on how telemedicine can help you through our closure. Over the last several weeks, we remained open with the singular goal of keeping patients out of emergency rooms and to not burden the workers on the frontline of the crisis. We urge you to use our telemedicine option if you are suffering with pain at this time, in a continued effort to keep musculoskeletal patients out of hospitals.

We realize the significant impact this will have on our patients. We would do anything for you! Unfortunately, the choice to close temporarily is beyond our control. We look forward to treating you in person just as soon as possible. If you are in the middle of a treatment plan or are a wellness-care patient, please utilize the following free resources:

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each of you for supporting Wash Park Chiro for the last 14 years and during this unprecedented time. We will continue to support and care for you how ever we can. We look forward to re-opening at full capacity once the coast is clear. At this time the earliest we can hope for according to Gov. Polis is April 14th. Please take care of yourselves and each other, and please feel free to reach out to us with any questions.

Stay well, Dr. Lisa Goodman & Wash Park Chiro Team

From the Department of Regulatory Agencies:

In particular, under Executive Order D 2020 009, no chiropractic procedure should be performed unless:

  • There is a threat to the patient’s life if the procedure is not performed;

  • There is a threat of permanent dysfunction of an extremity or organ system if the procedure is not performed;

  • There is a risk of metastasis or progression of staging of a disease or condition if the surgery is not performed; or

  • There is a risk that the patient's condition will rapidly deteriorate if the procedure is not performed and there is a threat to life, or to an extremity or organ system, or of permanent dysfunction or disability.

If you are moved to do so, we recommend emailing DORA with any concerns you may have over the limited scope of our practice at this time
