Self Care is something we take really seriously at Wash Park Chiro! It is not my goal to see my patients weekly for any longer than necessary. A really important component of weaning patients off of constant in-office therapy is teaching really effective out-of-office self care techniques. Hence, our Mobility and Taping Workshops! This weekend I am teaching our second workshop at Iyengar Yoga Center with the help of my friend and extraordinary teacher, Angie Woyar. After receiving feedback from last year's class we decided to extend this to a two hour workshop! Half of the workshop is dedicated to mobility tools including balls, rollers and sticks. So many people have these at home either collecting dust or simply being misused. In our workshop you will lear the most effective and efficient ways to work out your tight muscles, myofascial adhesions or to simply prepare for a workout. In the second portion of the workshop we teach DIY taping techniques using RockTape. These are really awesome for returning to the gym after an injury or for support of a tendonitis or mild muscle strain. You will learn taping of your ankle, achilles, foot, knee and wrist. You will also learn partner taping of the low back, shoulder, elbow and neck! Each participant will leave with their own roll of RockTape. We recommend bringing any and all of your mobility tools from home and we'll show you how to use them! Lastly, if you can't make it to the workshop this weekend, you can reference our video page here for more mobility and taping techniques! See you Saturday!
