I am seriously in awe of the events I get to be a part of! Just a few weeks ago (May 29-June 4) I attended the US Women's Open as part of the USGA Performance and Recovery Team. Along with other skilled and amazing chiropractors, athletic trainers, physical therapists and massage therapists, this team had the extreme privilege of working with players and caddies for the week long event.
Not only was I lucky enough to work on and with top players and caddies, I was also extremely fortunate to be able to watch these legends on the course during a few off hours. A few things you should know about these ladies: 1. They never miss a fairway 2. Their swings are perfection 3. They work their butts off to be the best. What an absolute honor to assist in any way we could to make it the best week of their year.
A few of the highlights included:
Number one for me is always meeting and working with practitioners all over the country who are there for one reason - improving athletic performance
Introducing chiropractic care to players and caddies who have never experienced the benefits of their joints sliding and gliding with ease after an adjustment! Hello range of motion!
A huge highlight was working with a top 10 golfer who need our help to get over some pain in her back swing, following the week, we were able to share with her team what we did to contribute to her performance. It is just too cool to work with high level teams for the benefit of athletic performance
Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club was first class all the way. Our set up was perfection and allowed so many athletes to be easily treated.
High five to the female caddies I met and treated over the course of the week.
High five to the male caddies who work hard day in and day out to allow their female bosses to absolutely crush their day jobs
One of my favorite interactions overall was with the head of the daycare. 18 years she has traveled with the tour looking after the player's little ones - in awe.
Thanks to the USGA for having me. Always an honor and a pleasure. See you next year!
