Taylor, Paganini, LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist

Amma, also known today as Tui na, is a therapeutic form of massage that originated in China over 5,000 years ago. Amma comes from the same philosophy that acupuncture derives from, thus a practitioner of Amma will be concerned with the body's Qi (pronounced CHEE) Qi is the life energy force that is said to flow throughout the body. This complementary and alternative Chinese medicine modality makes use of rhythmic compression techniques along different energy channels of the body to establish harmony and balance back to your Qi.

Some of the many benefits of Amma massage are ~ Reducing pain of the joints and musculoskeletal system ~ Reducing pain of arthritis ~ Relieving Sciatic pain/muscle spasms ~ Alleviation of stress/anxiety related disorders such as insomnia, constipation, headaches and other disorders related to digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems

A typical session of Amma massage may vary from 30 to 60 minutes. The session timing may vary depending on the patient's needs and conditions. Clients remain clothed, (recommend loose fitting clothes). Methods can include soft tissue massage, manipulation and acupressure in conjunction with herbal compresses, ointments, liniments and heat.
