When it comes to finding fitness in Wash Park the options are plenty. Having lived in Wash Park for over 10 years, I’ve had the opportunity to ‘road test’ most of the gyms in our zip code. This list includes gyms that have a little something different to offer and offer solid coaching in a safe and challenging environment. As an added bonus, all of these gyms boast tight knit groups and welcome new-comers. Many of these gyms host holiday workouts, encourage after hours gatherings, girls nights, and most importantly, encouragement during workouts. Check them out and tell them I sent you!
Pearl Street Fitness has High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) down to a science! Never the same workout twice, for a creative, challenging workout, PSF is your best bet. Plus this locally owned fitness studio offers up to 11 classes per day.
Crossfit Wash Park will bring you back to basics with old school strength training and conditioning. Expanding into a roomy new space at Broadway and Alameda, this 5 year old WP staple focuses on combining gymnastics, barbells and cardio to get you a solid workout with a fun crew.
Orange Theory Fitness is a familiar name and joined our community last summer. Your workout including cardio and strength training is tailored to you using heart rate monitors. Also, if you like rowing and strength - check out OTF.
Fitness Together on Gaylord specializes in personal training and will tailor workouts to your exact needs with a veteran staff of creative and motivating trainers.
Hot Mamas Exercise boasts a very challenging workout. If you are looking for an easy workout - this it not the place for you. Plus check out their annual girls trip to Tulum!
Fierce 45 opened last summer and brings the Megaformer to Wash Park. This Pilates based strength training workout is a intense and low impact for a sneaky core workout unlike any you’ve done before.
E3 Fitness features intelligent programing and functional movements to build fitness leaders by combining TRX, ropes and traditional strength training in small group classes.
Iyengar Yoga has been a fixture on South Broadway for 15 years. All levels of skill are taught to focus on body alignment, strength and flexibility. This is a great staple workout or can be integrated with other fitness interests.
Denver Gym and Fitness is an awesome all-around gym if you like to do your own thing on your own time while you lift or do cardio. Oh - they also have group classes and personal training available. This is a great budget-friendly option.
Last but not least...Washington Park is one of the best parks in denver, even in the winter! Create an interval workout, stop at the pullup bars or do some dips on a bench while you are there. Bundle up!
Kid Friendly
Three gyms have come together to offer childcare during classes to make working out more accessible for all of us! Pearl Street Fitness, Orange Theory and Fierce 45 offer child care during class times (hosted at Fierce 45). Hot Mamas also offers child care on site for a no-excuses workout!! The spacious Crossfit Wash Park Gym is conducive to older kids (5+) who want to hang out while parents train.
See what fits
Most of our neighborhood gyms offer a free class or a free week. Many of them are on Apps such as Classpass to allow variety. Check them out and see what fits best with what you need right now.
