What Exactly is Normatec?
The state of the art system optimizes recovery and performance. Using a patented, super compressive, massage pattern, NormaTec significantly improves circulation, mobilizing fluid up and away from the legs, arms, or hips. This can reduce swelling, decrease pain and speed recovery. What does that mean to you? Back to your sport faster. Anyone can use the NormaTec PRC System and will likely notice a significant benefit. Athletes will LOVE a session following training.

Treatment Frequency and Duration
We recommend a minimum 20 minute session that can be done within minutes or days of strenuous leg activity. It is often scheduled following a Graston or FAKTR session or after a deep tissue Massage. NormaTec sessions can also be scheduled on their own several times per week.

How does it work?
The system includes a control unit and attachments which go on the legs, arms, or hips. They use compressed air to massage your limbs, mobilize fluid, and speed recovery. When you use it, you will first experience a pre-inflate cycle, during which the connected attachments are molded to your exact body shape. The session will then begin by compressing your feet, hands, or upper quad (depending on which attachment you are using). Similar to the kneading and stroking done during a massage, each segment of the attachment will first compress in a pulsing manner and then release. This will repeat for each segment of the attachment as the compression pattern works its way up your limb.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
The systems use a patented massage pattern working on different parts of the body. It massages arms, hips, and legs with pneumatic compression. The recovery system promotes pain relief and recovery by improving circulation. It employs the following biomimicry forms:
-
Pulsing. It mobilizes fluid by mimicking the muscle pumps of arms and legs. This helps improve the movement of metabolites and fluid out of the body after an intense workout.
-
Gradient hold. It stops fluids from being directed in the wrong direction by restricting the backflow of fluid.
-
Distal release. It prevents backflow by releasing the hold pressure in each zone.
Who can benefit from Normatec?
The systems are useful not only for professional athletes, where they are commonly seen, but for anyone passionate about fitness. People who work physically demanding jobs also experience significant benefits from the system. It is also useful to those recovering from surgery. It helps to reduce soreness after workouts, accelerate recovery, and rejuvenate muscles.
Is Normatec safe for everyone?
Generally speaking, Normatec systems are safe for everyone. However there are some conditions or scenarios where using Normatec is not recommended. These include:
-
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
-
Open wounds in the area of the system
-
Fractures
-
Pulmonary edema
-
Places where lymphatic return isn't wanted
What can I expect to feel?
Normatec works through different zones. It will start with zone 1 (the farthest away) and will work its way up. You will feel the system compress/squeeze the area for a few seconds and then relax, repeating and adding each zone as it works up. You can adjust the power level to change how much compression you feel. Systems even have a zone boost to target a specific zone if you have an area you want to address.
