PRENATAL CARE FOR ALL STAGES OF PREGNANCY
PRENATAL CHIROPRACTIC, MASSAGE, & ACUPUNCTURE
At Washington Park Chiropractic, we specialize in prenatal care, from conception to birth and postpartum. Our chiropractors, massage therapists, and acupuncturist use a holistic approach tailored to mommas at all stages.

Prenatal Chiropractic
As Webster Technique certified practitioners and as members of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), our doctors are experts in supporting women throughout their pregnancy. There is a notion that back pain and discomfort is normal during pregnancy. Although your body is going through many physical changes, there is no reason you cannot have an awesome, amazing, fit & stellar experience.
Our doctors use standard, diversified techniques (and light force when necessary) to help you through every stage of your pregnancy. The Webster Technique is specifically geared towards creating a neutral pelvis and therefore decreasing the incidence of pelvic torsion and creating an environment for optimal fetal positioning. Chiropractic care during pregnancy is intended to promote a healthy pregnancy and an uneventful labor and delivery.
Prenatal Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology Taping during pregnancy can be used in many ways. The “baby belt” application provides a lot of relief for pubic bone and lower abdominal pain. It makes sleeping during pregnancy more comfortable and makes it easier to move. In general, this taping application is much more comfortable than a typical belt worn during pregnancy. It also eases rib and belly pain with sitting. Explore our prenatal taping videos in our video resource library.

Prenatal Massage
Prenatal bodywork is similar to Swedish Massage, with a focus on easing discomforts associated with pregnancy, such as water-retention, swelling, back aches, leg cramps and hip pain. It improves skin’s elasticity and eases mental and physical tension. Washington Park Chiropractic utilizes a special Prenatal Massage table that features cut outs for the belly and breasts. The table also features an adjustable sling under the belly cut-out to offer full support the belly. With this Prenatal Massage table it’s finally possible for the mother-to-be to relax comfortably in a face-down position during massage therapy. This innovative table is the result of extensive research and development by nurse-midwives, massage therapists, and engineers. We also utilize a wedge that allows the mother to be able to lay on their back in the upright position. When it gets close to the end of your pregnancy, our massage therapist can do a special induction massage that includes trigger points and essential oil blends.

Manual Therapy During Pregnancy
Many of our sports-specific manual therapy techniques are very effective during pregnancy. Our doctors often introduce the Graston Technique or Myofascial Release to address soft tissue pain including rib pain, groin pain, hip pain, glute pain or any other muscle or ligament pain that may creep up during the adventure that is pregnancy. Our goal is to keep our fit, prenatal patients as comfortable and active as possible. We want you to truly enjoy every aspect of being pregnant.
Prenatal Acupuncture
Acupuncture is very helpful to the expectant mother who may be experiencing imbalances like morning sickness, constipation, heartburn, back pain, carpal tunnel, etc. But more importantly it is used to support both the mom and baby through each stage of growth and development to ensure the placenta and thus baby are getting proper blood flow and nutrients. In the later stages of pregnancy acupuncture can be used to help turn breech babies and prepare mom and baby for labor and delivery. Postpartum treatments are also very beneficial for replenishing mom. Growing a baby, giving birth and breastfeeding are very depleting to the body and acupuncture can help to replenish the energy and fluids of the body as well as help with any issues with milk production and flow.

Using advanced therapies like laser treatment and active release, we enhance circulation and speed healing. Whether recovering from injury or managing chronic pain, our personalized plans aim to reduce discomfort and help you return to an active, pain-free lifestyle.
How Does a Sports Chiropractor Help with Performance Optimization?
Performance care is not just about addressing issues but also improving how you move and perform. By focusing on flexibility, mobility, and functional strength, practitioners aim to help athletes reduce recovery times and prevent future setbacks. Treatments such as manual adjustments, active release techniques, and laser therapy enhance range of motion and overall performance.
This approach also includes personalized plans for stretches, strengthening exercises, and lifestyle changes tailored to meet your specific needs. Whether preparing for a competition or maintaining an active lifestyle, athletes across Colorado turn to these clinics to optimize their performance and prove the benefits of proactive care. Regular sessions are key to staying pain-free and achieving your highest level of performance.
Can a Sports Chiropractor Manage Concussion Recovery?
Yes, specialists in sports-related care are equipped to support concussion recovery effectively. Many concussions involve a cervical spine component, which can interfere with blood flow and create tension in the neck. By addressing these areas, practitioners aim to eliminate discomfort and restore balance.
Therapies such as infrared light treatments and manual techniques are used to reduce inflammation, improve function, and speed up recovery. By focusing on the neck and surrounding musculoskeletal structures, patients can safely regain range of motion and reduce long-term complications. This integrative approach ensures you return to your active lifestyle safely and confidently.
What Should I Expect During My First Visit?
Your first visit will begin with a comprehensive evaluation designed to pinpoint the root cause of your discomfort. Providers at our clinic will review your medical history, assess your movement, and recommend imaging like X-rays if needed. This process ensures your diagnosis is accurate and care is appropriately tailored.
From there, an individualized treatment plan is created to help you feel better and move toward functional recovery. Treatments may include manual adjustments, active release techniques, or tools like laser to support healing. You’ll leave with clear guidance and a plan to eliminate discomfort and maintain long-term results.
How Often Should I Schedule Chiropractic Adjustments?
Your provider will discuss the recommended visit frequency with you during your first appointment, based on your specific condition, goals, and lifestyle.
For acute injuries, more frequent visits may be needed early on, then gradually reduced as you heal. For ongoing performance care or injury prevention, monthly or periodic sessions are often ideal.
Integrating this care into your routine is a key part of maintaining a pain-free, active lifestyle. Many athletes, especially those in high-impact sports like CrossFit, use regular treatment to improve performance, speed recovery, and prevent setbacks. Routine care helps correct imbalances and supports long-term movement health, so you can stay strong and do what you love.
Is Sports Chiropractic Care Safe?
Specialists in sports-focused care are well equipped to support concussion recovery. Many concussions involve the cervical spine, where tension and restricted blood flow can contribute to prolonged symptoms. By addressing these areas, we help reduce discomfort and restore proper function.
Therapies such as laser treatment and manual techniques are used to decrease inflammation, improve mobility, and support the body’s natural healing. By focusing on the neck and related musculoskeletal structures, we help patients safely regain range of motion and reduce the risk of long-term complications.
This integrative approach not only supports full recovery but also ensures a safe, confident return to play and daily activity.
