In Colorado, your own auto insurance is primary
Often called “med-pay”, Medical Payments Coverage is provided by your own auto insurance company. It includes at least $5,000 of coverage for the insured driver and passengers for injuries sustained in a car accident, regardless of who is at fault. Filing a Med pay claim and using Med Pay will not raise your insurance premiums. Although the coverage is mandatory, there is a provision for consumers who do not want med-pay coverage to opt-out in writing.
Simply call your auto insurance provider and they will be able to tell you whether or not you have Med Pay and how much your limits are. Once you are given a Med Pay claim number from your insurance company, simply provide this claim number to us at your next office visit and we will submit the bills to your insurance. If the other party has taken responsibility we will still send all claims to your insurance company and they then can recover costs independently from the third party insurance.

No Medical Payments Coverage on your Auto Insurance
If you don’t have Medical Payments Coverage or have opted-out, your other options are as follows:
Attorney Representation: We have a network of attorneys who are ready to help you through the process of getting your medical bills covered. They are knowledgeable and able to help you with legal representation and guidance when dealing with the at fault party and their insurance company

Lien: A lien is a loan provided by the health care provider, in this case by our office. A lien is offered when a patient is unable to afford the necessary treatment after an auto accident. In this case the health care provider will not be reimbursed until after the case settles. Because there is risk involved with offering a lien, our office policy is to require that an attorney handle your case and work with our office

Pay at Time-Of-Service: Some patients chose to benefit from our time-of-service discount by paying for treatment as they go. Our office will not bill your claims to any insurance company and you will be responsible for payment. However, you are eligible to send in receipts and possibly be reimbursed by the at-fault auto insurance company if they deem your treatment ‘medically necessary.’ This option is not recommended if significant treatment is needed to attain your pre-accident level of wellness.

Please Note: If you do not have Med Pay on your auto insurance or we have not verified it prior to your first appointment, all payments for your first visit will be due at the time of service

How Does a Sports Chiropractor Help with Performance Optimization?
Performance care is not just about addressing issues but also improving how you move and perform. By focusing on flexibility, mobility, and functional strength, practitioners aim to help athletes reduce recovery times and prevent future setbacks. Treatments such as manual adjustments, active release techniques, and laser therapy enhance range of motion and overall performance.

Whether preparing for a competition or maintaining an active lifestyle, athletes across Colorado turn to these clinics to optimize their performance and prove the benefits of proactive care. Can a Sports Chiropractor Manage Concussion Recovery?
Yes, specialists in sports-related care are equipped to support concussion recovery effectively. Many concussions involve a cervical spine component, which can interfere with blood flow and create tension in the neck. By addressing these areas, practitioners aim to eliminate discomfort and restore balance.
Therapies such as infrared light treatments and manual techniques are used to reduce inflammation, improve function, and speed up recovery. By focusing on the neck and surrounding musculoskeletal structures, patients can safely regain range of motion and reduce long-term complications. This integrative approach ensures you return to your active lifestyle safely and confidently.
What Should I Expect During My First Visit?
Your first visit will begin with a comprehensive evaluation designed to pinpoint the root cause of your discomfort. Providers at our clinic will review your medical history, assess your movement, and recommend imaging like X-rays if needed. This process ensures your diagnosis is accurate and care is appropriately tailored.
From there, an individualized treatment plan is created to help you feel better and move toward functional recovery. Treatments may include manual adjustments, active release techniques, or tools like laser to support healing. You’ll leave with clear guidance and a plan to eliminate discomfort and maintain long-term results.
How Often Should I Schedule Chiropractic Adjustments?
Your provider will discuss the recommended visit frequency with you during your first appointment, based on your specific condition, goals, and lifestyle.
For acute injuries, more frequent visits may be needed early on, then gradually reduced as you heal. For ongoing performance care or injury prevention, monthly or periodic sessions are often ideal.
Integrating this care into your routine is a key part of maintaining a pain-free, active lifestyle. Many athletes, especially those in high-impact sports like CrossFit, use regular treatment to improve performance, speed recovery, and prevent setbacks. Routine care helps correct imbalances and supports long-term movement health, so you can stay strong and do what you love.
