Washington Park Chiropractic is an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies. With out-of-network insurance, there is usually a separate deductible that must be met and collected before the insurance company will pay for services. After that, your insurance company will cover a percentage of your care and you will be responsible for the rest. Most insurance companies allow us to accept assignment, which means that after your deductible is met we only have to collect the percentage you are responsible for. Some insurance companies, like Anthem / Blue Cross Blue Shield, will not allow us to accept assignment. This means that you will have to pay the full amount for treatments and then your insurance company will reimburse you directly. We are not part of the chiropractic network that Kaiser supports. Since we are an out-of-network provider, we do not accept HMO plans. We do not accept Medicaid.
Why are we out-of-network? One of the biggest differences between out-of-network and in-network providers is that your treatment plan and appointment length is dictated by the doctor rather than the insurance company. As a result, out-of-network providers are able to spend more time with patients and consequently provide more quality and focused care. Because of the quality of care, patients may notice a faster recovery and fewer overall treatments. Out-of-networks providers also tend to attain advance certifications. Our chiropractors are certified in Pediatric, Prenatal, and Sports Chiropractic.
Medicare only overs specific chiropractic treatments which we can go over with you at your first visit. We accept Medicare as a “non-participating physician. This means that we will collect the full amount of your visit charges at the time of service and then a claim into Medicare for you. Medicare and/or your secondary insurance policy will then reimburse you directly based on the details of your coverage.
